I love Dunedin. That’s why Claire and I chose to raise our young family here. We’re only fifteen minutes from the Octagon, yet we live in a rural setting. That balance is unique. You can be close to the city but still enjoy the space and lifestyle. Whether you’re beside the harbour, up in the hills, or in a cottage in South Dunedin, you know how special this place is.

Dunedin is still affordable. We’ve got a deep-water port, a world-class university and tertiary sector, and a business community that is passionate about the role they play in this city’s future. Most importantly, we’ve got people who care. People who want to live here, invest here, and build their lives here. That’s what makes Dunedin such a great city, and that is why I am standing in the Dunedin mayoral election 2025.

A City of Opportunity

I want my children to grow up here because they choose to. I want them to see opportunity in Dunedin. I want them to know they can thrive without leaving.

To make that possible, we need to get things done. We need growth. We need jobs. We need economic development that is real, not just promised. We need a council that works with our community, not against it.

Keeping Our Young People Here

I don’t want to see another generation forced to leave for opportunities elsewhere. I don’t want our young people to feel like they have to move north or west to succeed. I want them to build their future here, in Dunedin.

That means a council focused on action, not delay. A council that supports business, education, and community projects that deliver for our people.

My Commitment

That’s why I’m determined to be a good mayor. To get things moving. To focus on action. To make sure Dunedin is a city where families can live, work, and prosper.

This year’s Dunedin local elections are about more than choosing councillors or a mayor. They are about the direction of our city for the next generation.
